Buying him a wedding ring
Now at days, it's becoming more common for a woman to buy her fiance a wedding ring. So here's a quick list to check before buying him a wedding ring.
Does he even like jewelry at all?
If so, does he like more white or yellow gold? There are also the options of platinum, titanium and stainless steel.
The advantage of platinum over gold is that it's stronger. However over time, it will loose that special shine it had the first day you bought it. To fix this, you need to have it buff with a special machine (be aware that not all jewelry store have it, and they may need to send the ring out to have it done). However the process of losing it's beautiful luster can happen just within a couple of moths. So do keep in mind that even though it's very beautiful at the beginning it won't always be the same. Another thing to consider is your budget, platinum will be around 3 times more expensive than gold.
Titanium is a very strong metal and very light. This type of ring is ideal for the man who works with his hands allot, because it doesn't matter how much you hit it, it won't break. Also if your guy doesn't like the traditional look of a wedding band this is perfect. Most of the design that are done on titanium rings are modern and wild. However, do keep in mind that titanium is so strong that it is hard to cut. It can be cut, but it will have to be done with special tools which most jewelry stores don't have. Also, as the years pass, people tend to loose or gain weight, so make sure that you have the right size. Also remember that this type of ring has to be custom made, so if you need to change the size, it might be a while to get it back.
Then there is the traditional gold. Nowadays you have the choice of either white of yellow gold. There is no difference in the price. However do keep in mind that there is no such thing as white gold, it's actually yellow gold mix in with other alloys to make it white, so over time it does go back to its original color. To help keep it white, a process call rhodium plating has to be done.
There is also the option of stainless steel. This is perhaps the least expensive of all your options. Also keep in mind that it will be like a stainless steel watch band. So it can get scratch the same way.
