Also, as the years pass, people tend to loose or gain weight, so make sure that you have the right size. Also remember that this type of ring has to be custom made, so if you need to change the size, it might be a while to get it back.

Then there is the traditional gold. Nowadays you have the choice of either white of yellow gold. There is no difference in the price. However do keep in mind that there is no such thing as white gold, it's actually yellow gold mix in with other alloys to make it white, so over time it does go back to its original color. To help keep it white, a process call rhodium plating has to be done.

There is also the option of stainless steel. This is perhaps the least expensive of all your options. Also keep in mind that it will be like a stainless steel watch band. So it can get scratch the same way.
